The Breville axiom in short is: grind, brew and add milk froth. With the Oracle’s easy to use touch screen you can perform it in 3 easy steps. Before uncovering the benefits and an overview of the Breville Oracle Touch Automatic Espresso Machine (With Milk Frother), we’ll go over what a milk frother on an espresso machine really does.
Read the ‘Breville Oracle Touch Automatic Espresso Machine review ’ if you would like to know about the froth making capabilities, washing ease, capacity, and quality of the produced coffee drinks, themselves. The small attention to details will also be exposed: the good, the bad and the ugly … if any.
Why do Espresso Machines have a Milk Frother?
Ever since the cappuccino evolved in Northern Italy, cappuccinos, lattes, macchiatos, and other recipes have been topped with a top layer of foamy milk froth. The milk is frothed into a micro foam that is almost double the original volume of milk. For lattes, the milk is steamed. The result of steaming is simply hot milk with a small amount of foam.
The reason milk frothers became incorporated in espresso machines was to improve speed and ease of creating a coffee of your style. Imagine having to heat up a second device, namely a milk frother, prepare it … it’s not the end of the world … but having everything in one device, especially on a home kitchen counter where space maybe precious, can only be a good thing.
Breville Oracle Touch Fully Automatic Espresso Machine Review
The Breville Oracle Touch Espresso Machine with milk frother is a dual boiler, highly automated, espresso machine with powerful steam for creating micro bubbles for velvety froth. To provide guests or yourself with real authentic espresso quality, your machine should have a bean grinder for more control over flavors like the Breville.
Designed for commercial (small crowds) use or coffee aficionados at home, One touch is designed to automatically perform the grinding, dosing and tamping (see Wikipedia for a definition) .
Breville say they’re superseding older brands with their tech advances and who am I to argue. Program and save up to 8 personalized coffees, on the touch screen making life easier. Adjust the milk texture, and coffee strength – coffee your way.
The Breville in Operation
Digital temperature control (PID),delivers water for espresso at a precise correct, temperature for great tasting coffee, which prevents it tasting on the ashy side … that one degree too hot can create. Low pressure buzzes into action before gradually rising to expand the grinds evenly during the 9 bar pressure extraction, the way the best commercial machines should do.
22 grams of coffee can be ground at a time which is more than enough for a few cappuccinos or large lattes. A creamy, rich and opulent looking espresso drips from the Italian 15 bar pump after extraction with the 9 bar pressure.
Pour the milk in the pitcher and under the wand, then the heated spray froths the milk to the desired setting. For top quality froth, texture and temperature are important for creating layers of thick foam. Luckily the Breville does it automatically. Micro foam begins to bubble for a full bodied taste that micro foam bubbles bring to a coffee beverage. Select the ‘frothing’ icon on the touch screen and watch the count down on the screen … easy and ingenious. Micro foam traps the oils of the espresso creating a more honey taste to the espresso.
An automatic cleaning system from a dedicated boiler saves you time and you can sit back and marvel at the gentle hiss as it gets to work. Barista style milk froth pours like white cream from the steam wand, producing wonderful micro bubbles for a light and rich texture.
Benefits and Appearance
The brushed stainless steel finish helps the Breville look stunningly, sharp on a counter top while the shiny stainless steel behind the nozzles appears like a stylish accent color. On the downside for some, there are no color alternatives.
For bistro style coffee of a superior flavor the Breville will probably save you money in the long term, despite its higher price. To place it in your kitchen please note the dimensions are: 14.7 x 14.5 x 17.6 inches and its not so heavy for lifting at 37.3 pounds.
Cleaning the machine is easy as I touched on, thanks to the auto clean function. It’s important to keep this type of machine clean for a long use. Once you remove the pitcher, the frother automatically cleans the inside of the frother. With a cloth, it’s simple to clean the outside of the frother.
