What is a $10 Handheld Milk Frother?
A $10 handheld milk frother is a budget device that uses an electric motor to spin
a single headed whisk (or double headed whisk if you’re lucky to find one at $10). These devices are AA battery or rechargeable battery powered. However, rechargeable frothers would be hard to find for $10.
Often sold in bright colors, $10 handheld milk frothers are a fun and useful kitchen device to keep in your kitchen drawer.
What Does a Milk Frother do to Milk?
Milk frothers aerate milk, creating velvety, thick froth which adds an inviting texture and taste to coffee beverages. While the professional method of making coffee froth is by steam wand, budget home milk frothers, spin a whisk which creates a vortex.
Injected air into milk, creates minute bubbles which increases the volume of the milk, and makes a light, dense foam. A cappuccino with $10 handheld milk is doable.

The Result
The final coffee should be a hot, flavorsome coffee beverage reminiscent of a bistro cappuccino. Try using more milk for a home made latte. You may also add cinnamon sprinkles to add an extra bistro style taste. And of course a latte art stencil will make your guest think you may have ordered out for your morning coffees.
With challenges facing our world there are benefits to staying in doors and I hope this recipe brings some enjoyment to your daily routine.
Tip of The Day
Immediately clean your handheld milk frother by dipping it in a glass of hot water and detergent, then turn it on for 30 seconds. Perform the same routine again with clean warm water to rinse.
Dry thoroughly to avoid rust on some budget models. Don’t be too put off buying models with AA batteries. They often will last more than a year in my experience and make your frother highly portable for camping trips, hotel stays and more.
