The Yabano Espresso Machine, 15 Bar (With Milk Frother) is a narrow, tall, home espresso machine for making cappuccinos lattes, frappuccinos (with crema) and other Italian styles including cold coffees.Able to make two cups in one sitting, the machine has a cafe style pressure gauge, an 15 bar, 37oz large and transparent water tank; the Yabano is very much geared up to be a professional style espresso machine and milk frother for budding baristas at home.
In the review of the Yabano, I look at the fundamental qualities this machine should excel at such as usability, ease of cleaning, build quality and the final beverages with crema, themselves.
Read the review until the end to see if this machine is likely to get shoppers salivating or leaving a sour taste in the mouth. Firstly lets go over the importance of pressure when making an espresso.
9 Bar Pressure Vs 15 Bar Pressure
It typically takes between 25–30 seconds to make a shot of espresso with a nine bar machine. Less pressure will produce a coffee in more time where, more pressure, will speed up the process. Car tires are a good example of using psi (pounds per square inch) with pressure charts saying you should pump them to 32 PSI.
Nine bars pumps pressure to the equivalent of 130 PSI so you can see the power involved. 15 bars creates more: 217 psi of pressure so espresso will be made even quicker. There is a dichotomy of opinion whether 9 bar or 15 bar is better, with some aficionados liking a slower made coffee and others preferring a faster made cup.
Yabano Espresso Machine, 15 Bar (Milk Frother) Review
The Yabano comes with a feature almost no others of this price range have: a pressure gauge, showing accurate pressure so you can consistently check it for constant good espresso making. Not much experience is needed to get it right and follow the few steps involved in creating your first two cups of delicious espresso.
A clear benefit of the Yabano Espresso machine, 15 bar (with milk frother) is its ability to make two cups in one round. Cleverly, it lets you know if the water is too hot to make another shot due to just using the steamer. A handy steam light will stop flashing before you should steam the milk. It will let you know once it’s at a lower temp – professional technology which is above its price tag. A low pleasurable hum that won’t wake the family sounds while the Yabano gets to work.
Practicality of The Yabano Espresso Machine, 15 Bar (With Milk Frother)
At the reasonable diameter 16.34 x 13.74 x 7.99 inches the Yabano is slim and stylish, so it won’t dominate your valuable counter and need to be kept out of the way, in storage when not in use, like some machines. The clear water tank allows you to see the water level (unlike old models)and refill it accordingly.
The steam function can create thick and creamy foam and heats and froths the milk perfectly. But unfortunately a frothing stainless steel jug is not part of the package. You can improvise with a glass jug if you don’t have one.
Tip of The Day
- The Yabano is best used with fine ground coffee and that will mean buying your own coffee grinder for the best full bodied espresso with velvety crema.
The body and steam wand are made of stainless steel so you know it’ll last. Shame the tamper handle isn’t but it feels tough and professional when you press down the ground coffee. The hotplate is a useful bonus for keeping espresso cups warm and is detachable for easy cleaning. I do recommend turning on the hotplate a few minutes before hand as it won’t be warm enough otherwise, when the coffee is ready.
Cleaning The Yabano
Hand washing parts of this espresso machine is simple. The tank, drip tray and frother nozzle are detachable. However, don’t place the portafilter and other attachments in a dishwasher.
All said the Yabano is an espresso machine with milk frother that punches above its price level. The design looks cool in stainless steels with hints of an Italian past. Get the pressure correct which you should so after a few tries and choose the right ground coffee and the end results will give machines that cost twice as much a run for their money. Plus it’s ideal for the beginner barista to make delicious espresso and then cappuccino in a jiffy. Good bye Starbucks, Hello home cappuccinos.

I was investigating espresso machines and decided upon the Brewsly 15 bar. When I went to order it on Amazon, it sneakily didn’t mention the word Yabano unless you scrolled down. Do you know the difference between the two and how there can be two seemingly identical machines by two different companies ?
It appears the Brewsly is no longer listed on Amazon. The yabano has been around for a while.
